What to Expect
On arrival I will ask you a few questions to see where your body is and what you are wanting out of the session that day. At the beginning of each session, I”ll step out to wash my hands, and let you undress to your comfort level. You will be draped at all times. Each session will be different. There will always be spots that we tend to gather stress- but life is different every day, and our needs change because of that. It”s your session, so if something doesn”t feel right or you have any questions, just ask!
Swedish massage
is a gentle, light-pressure massage using long, effleurage strokes. It increases circulation while decreasing nervous system stress and hypertension. Swedish massage is a great choice when you want to relax, let go, and pamper yourself.
Deep tissue massage
always starts with long Swedish massage strokes to warm up muscles before applying deeper pressure to break up knots, scar tissue and adhesions in the muscles. Deep tissue massage, when applied with skill, can relieve neuromuscular tension and release trigger points, knots and patterns of imbalance. This a great option for athletes, those with chronic muscle pain and tension, headaches, postural issues, and anyone who loves deep work.
Prenatal & postpartum
As a women’s health clinic, our massage therapists have a wealth of experience treating women in all trimesters of pregnancy, as well as in the postpartum weeks. Greg holds an advanced certification in perinatal massage therapy to offer our the clients highly specialized care thay they have come to expect from Acupuncture Denver.
Myofacial
Creates space in the connective tissues by manipulating the fascia that surround the muscles.
Lymphatic drainage massage (LDM)
Is a very light touch that mimics your body’s natural lymphatic pumping system. Unlike other systems in your body, the lymphatic system relies on exercise, gravity, breathing, movement, and LDM to move and filter lymphatic fluids. This wonderful technique also helps remove toxins and strengthen the immune system. Lymphatic massage is ideal for the following issues or conditions:
- Detoxification
- Post-surgical recovery with fluid retention
- Scar tissue
- Those averse to deep tissue work
- Chronic sinus congestion
- Swollen glands or lymph nodes
- Allergies
- Breast distention and pain
LDM has many benefits as well as contraindications. Please email Greg to discuss your situation before booking your first LDM to ensure he can meet your specific needs. We recommend that clients allow 90 minutes for this service.
